Dr. Joshua Rovin and Dr. Anthony Murphy become the first surgeons in North America to implant the GORE Conformable TAG® Device

On Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Dr. Joshua Rovin and Dr. Anthony Murphy became the first surgeons in North America to implant the GORE Conformable TAG® device for treatment of aneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta (DTA).  The TAG Device is in the investigational phase nationwide and is expected to lower morbidity and mortality incidence in patients suffering from aneurysm of the DTA.  The use of this device allows for a non-invasive surgical treatment option for these patients which greatly reduces the chance of surgical complication as well as drastically shortens the post-operative recovery period.

Dr. Rovin, Primary Investigator of the GORE Conformable TAG® 08-03 Research Trial is one of 30 Investigators nationwide involved with this exciting new trial.  Dr. Rovin is permitted to enroll up to 10 patients in this trial.
